PROJECT: Professional Development Plan and Grant Funding for Staff Training: support the development of a coordinated, cross site, cross-department staff development plan, in line with Year Up’s new strategic plan. Pursue workforce training grant funding in multiple states to support this training.
Year Up, with a mission to close the Opportunity Divide by providing low income young adults with the skills, experience and support that will empower them to reach their potential through professional careers and higher education. Year Up works with leading employers to prove the value of Opportunity Youth as a pool of talent for middle-skilled jobs. Year Up operates in 13 states and the District of Columbia and has a rocket-fueled strategic plan that over the next 5 years will more than double the number of young people they serve and more. Year Up is growing it’s staff at a rapid rate as well and has identified high performing consistency among site operations and service delivery approaches as top priorities.
Building On is working with Year up to support the development of a high impact staff development plan and to pursue workforce training fund grant funding in multiple states, starting with Massachusetts and California. Results pending.
